Official synopsis : “A few decades from now… Sienna, a rebellious robot-fighting arms dealer, lives on a post-apocalyptic Earth. When the cities start to fall under the control of the A.I. Scourge, a hyper-weaponized robot army, Sienna decides to leave the Earth and journey to the centre of the galaxy, seeking a mythical weapon that can neutralize any form of A.I. Pursued by giant machines, Sienna loses everything she cares about in an effort to save the last vestiges of humanity in an A.I. controlled galaxy.”

Very hard to write this without spoilers. I expected it to be standard low budget Sci-Fi fare. Didn’t expect to like it, but about half way through I loved it. Where they got it right was the characters. Tracey Birdsall plays Sienna, a warrior in the wasteland who is fighting against a mysterious AI called the scourge. Confusing at first until you get to the end. Make some very valid statements about the future of AI without going down the usual territory. Very clever Sci-Fi writing and the mention of Hawking radiation (and knowing what it is) showed that the writer’s did their homework. My only gripe is that the studio didn’t sink a lot of money into this, but that doesn’t affect my rating. Very clever Sci-Fi. Holland, the floating robot steals the show in a couple of scenes.

We’ve had our eye on Neil Johnson’s Rogue Warrior: Robot Fighter for quite some time now, and we’re pretty stoked to see what they have for us in the final product. So, with the film set for a theatrical release tomorrow, June 2, 2017, a new trailer and images have arrived and you can check the goods out below.

When a young man, down on his luck, learns about his father’s killer’s parole, it sets off a cat and mouse chase through the hostile desert, searching for a hidden family inheritance.

Superheroes, swimsuits, and special operatives await you in our Summer Movie Guide. Plan your season and take note of the hotly anticipated indie, foreign, and documentary releases, too.

Sadly, no. Though there are arguably one or two smaller laughs to come, Johnson’s script is mostly focused on cobbling together sci-fi tropes — tetchy robot helpers, hopeless quests to destroy massive superweapons — so the director will have something to do with all those really, really unconvincing CGI spaceships he has made.

As we hear more about humanity’s long battle with an out-of-control AI bent on galactic domination, one recurring theme is that any robots that humans do still deal with must be “tethered” so they don’t get out of control. This leaves the good-guy robots resentful about the rights they’ve been stripped of; Sienna’s floating robo-sphere sidekick is particularly full of complaints. If our future really does involve a bill of rights for man-made intelligences, it should include a ban on forcing robots to participate in movies this shoddy.

Unfortunately, the question is more tantalizing than the answer supplied by this wholly cheesy, almost entirely witless creation, which somehow attracted the attention of Sony for home video distribution. The pic will be an option of last resort for sci-fi-hounds who simply will watch anything with a spaceship or talking robot in it.

Birdsall plays Sienna, a resourceful rebel on a quest to take down the evil empire of robots.

This serving of sci-fi sludge, set “a few decades from now,” presents a post-apocalyptic world in which humanity has been overthrown by the A.I. Scourge, a mechanized army intent on taking over the universe.
